Class Description: 

In this exciting virtual class you'll learn about the basics of printing monotypes using the beauty of nature to create fun and bold pieces of art.

The class will focus on the technique of gel printing which uses a soft and flexible polymer plate to create one-of-a-kind prints without a fancy press. We’ll start by practicing how to roll out paint on the plate to make solid color and textured background prints on paper. 

Next, we’ll have fun with fern leaves to create interesting compositions and make one-of-a-kind prints with contrasting colors. Feel free to bring your own leaves to try printing with as well!

By the end of class you’ll have a stack of bright pop-art inspired nature prints ready for display and the tools and inspiration to keep creating after class. There are so many different techniques to explore with gel printing and this class will be the stepping stone to get you started!

The Nature Gel Printing Class Kit includes:

• Gelli plate (5"x5")
  
• Fern leaves
• Acrylic paints (blue, magenta, yellow, and black) 
  
• Brayer
• Texture tools
  
• Pad of paper
  
• Cleaning wipes
